Program Overview
The project "Building Atmosphere for Child's Holistic Development Protection and Nurturing," or BACHPAN, focuses on orphan and semi-orphan children's holistic development, protection, and nurturing. This initiative addresses societal challenges by providing kinship care, independent care, and support for children without proper parental or guardian care.
Approach
- Children in residential care have better psychological health than those in institutional care.
- Improved social environment for children through sensitization, training, and workshops.
- Increased opportunities for children to voice their concerns through dialogues with administration, teachers, and the community.
Implementation

Periodic meetings with child club, slum committee, guardian committee, local authorities, and elected representatives in the slums to support children in need of care and protection.

Life skills training for children to promote individual thinking, leadership, communication, and other skills.

Support provided to children and their families in the form of tuition, education kits, and ration.

Linkage of children and their families with different government schemes and entitlements.

Upgradation of schools and Anganwadi Centers (AWCs) in the slums to improve the social environment of education.
